This research contains centrifugal pump sizing which involved determining the total dynamic head through which a cooling medium (propylene glycol) would be pumped and obtaining a suitable flow rate at the heat exchanger that would be able to cool the process stream (beverage) to a target temperature of 40C. The design flow rate will cool the beverage to a temperature so as to reduce the effect of temperature rise which leads to formation of bubbles during packaging hence beverage losses and reduced output. Considering the glycol tank reservoir elevations and distance from the heat exchanger, a centrifugal pump was sized to provide a flow rate of 30m3/hr with a total dynamic head of 120m with a 10 inch impeller diameter.
