Public service motivation, employee engagement and job satisfaction among employees in Kitebi Health Centre III
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between Public Service Motivation, Employee Engagement and Job Satisfaction Among Employees in Kitebi Health Centre III basing on the following objectives; to examine the relationship between Public Service Motivation (PSM) and Job satisfaction among employees at Kitebi Health Centre III, to examine the relationship between Public Service Motivation (PSM) and employee engagement at among employees at Kitebi Health Centre III, and to examine the relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction among employees at Kitebi Health Centre III. A correlational research design was used to examine of the influence of Public Service Motivation, Employee Engagement and Job Satisfaction Among Employees in Kitebi Health Centre 3. This study targeted a sample of 60 employees at Kitebi Health Centre III. Data was collected by the use of questionnaire. Data analysis was done using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) using the different units of analysis. The data was summarized into frequencies and percentages and Pearson Coefficient was used to test the hypotheses. Findings revealed that the hypothesis on whether there is a significant relationship between Public Service Motivation and Job satisfaction among employees at Kitebi Health Centre III was true. The hypothesis on whether there is a significant relationship between Public Service Motivation and employee engagement among employees at Kitebi Health Centre III was true, and the hypothesis on whether there is a significant relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction among employees at Kitebi Health Centre III was accepted. It was recommended that Kitebi Health Centre III needs to empower its employees to make decisions. When employees feel empowered, they have higher job satisfaction, and Kitebi Health Centre III needs to offer flexible work arrangements. With more people working remotely, flexible work arrangements are becoming a necessity.
