dc.description.abstractFrom the objectives of the study the researcher found out that the number of customers and the number of containers shipped had a significant relationship with revenue earned by the company while the taxes paid to URA and costs have insignificant relationships with the revenue earned by CMA CGM Shipping Line. Secondary data collected from CMA CGM Shipping Line was used for the study on three different levels of analysis which included descriptive statistics at Univariate level, Correlation analysis for bivariate level and multilinear regression for multivariate analysis. The study showed that the number of customers and number of standard containers had a positive significant relationship with the revenues earned by CMA CGM Shipping company yet taxes imposed on the company have a negative insignificant relationship with revenues earn and the costs incurred had a positive insignificant relationship with revenues earned by the shipping company. The findings the researcher found out that the number of clients/customers served by the company and the number of containers shipped by CMA CGM Shipping Line had significant relationships with Revenue earned by the company implying an improving relevant role played by the performance of Shipping Companies in economic development of a land locked country such as Uganda. The government should provide stable economic environment to favour performance of these companies by reducing the taxes imposed on the goods transported.en_US
