The study was set to make a descriptive review in etching printmaking as a method of printmaking at Margate Trowell School of Industrial Fine Art. In this case, as the researcher, I defined etching printmaking as a process through which an artist first draws the desired image on a piece of plastic plate/cooper using of sharp object like nail or compass in area that are not to be printed out so that the image can stand out in relief. Mayer Hilder (1942) etching being one of the relief prints process invaded with an aim to produce many copies out of the original copy. The study was set on purposively three major objectives; first being to establish the prospects of etching print making, secondly was to find out why the level of students performance shows a lot to be desired in the section of etching printmaking and third but not least was to find ways on how students can overcome the will be underlying challenges so as to make their prints reach the market demand standards. For this study; the researcher basically looked at etching printmaking as a method of print making at Margate trowel school of industrial and fine art. the study was conducted through a descriptive design by using a cross sectional study whereby it was a kind of research that involved random selection of students who did printmaking as a course at Margate trowel school of industrial and fine art. The researcher employed probability and non probability sampling techniques and methods during the process of selecting the study respondents during the data collection process. This researcher in this study employed purpose sampling to select the students. The study rotated in a population of students 10 to 15 respondents that targeted mainly students of printmaking at Margatetrowel school of industrial fine art. Clear justification and description of the study findings were presented based on the set study objectives through field research upon which the researcher provided as distinguished conclusion based on the descriptive research design set to analyze etching printmaking at Margate trowel school of industrial and fine art. The researcher made study conclusions based on the results that came up as result from the field research study and more the future study anticipation were documented about by the researcher based on the conclusion as results from the study attainment.
