dc.description.abstractThe report is comprised of five chapters which fully explore the research objectives and offers a vital material on various aspects of the research. The first chapter explore general introduction of the study, the background of the study, the general and specific objectives which brings out the problem that sought a need for this research, the scope of the study and points out the significance of the study. The second chapter two contains the literature review from different articles, journals and scholarly documents by different authors that are related to this research. The chapter brings forth the clear description and discussions of the challenges of road upgrading and standardization process from different perspectives, the relationship between the process and the built up communities. The third chapter literally looks at the different methods of data collection which included use of questionnaire, photography interviews, measurement and literature review. It encompasses the sampling techniques used during the interviews and highlights on the data processing and analysis process. The fourth chapter entails the findings and the discussion on surveys of the upgraded roads and the standards in Namungoona ward. The discussion are arranged in such a way the that the first theme gives a description about the state of upgraded roads in terms of their widen-standards, nature- termaced and marram and also gives an insight on the state of un upgraded roads. The second theme gives an explanation on the challenges encountered during the process of road to both the projected affected communities and the concerned authorities taking on the projects. The last chapter (firth chapter) this research gives entails the summary of all the chapters and provides possible practical solutions to the major issues identified. It also includes the conclusion and recommendation to make a summary of the research.en_US
