    Abstract
    The main focus of this thesis was to quantitatively analyze the effects of agent banking on performance of commercial banks in Uganda taking a case study on Centenary bank. The study used a descriptive survey design, since its dealing more with defined description of the facts and characteristics of the population at study. The findings showed the following; that majority of the respondents agreed to a great extent that Agency banking excels in Service delivery, that Agency banking improves its banking Environment and lastly that Agency banking has led to accessibility of financial service to many customer in remote areas.The study found out that agent banking had an influence on performance of commercial banks however it had no significant relationship with performance of commercial banks. Therefore, the study recommends that banks should continue offering low transaction rates within their local agency points
