Address terms play an important role in human communication. Different languages use different systems of address terms, which reflect various cultural backgrounds and social relationships. This paper focuses on Chinese address terms and analyzes their main types, usage characteristics, and cultural meanings. Through comparison with address systems in other languages, the study explores the functions and cultural implications of Chinese address terms in social communications. The study finds that the Chinese address system is relatively complex and reflects the cultural values of hierarchy and family relationships in Chinese society. Understanding these differences can help promote cross-cultural communication and improve the effectiveness of Chinese language learning.
