Effect of irony in Ganda proverbs

Abstract

This research was mainly carried out to examine and analyze the effectiveness of Irony in making meaning of proverbs with close reference to a few selected Ganda proverbs. The findings of this research are elaborate to the dot and they vivid show that Irony is greatly effective in making meaning in Ganda proverbs. It was there fore at the heart of this study to establish the reality about the concept Irony in proverbs.
