Assessment of traffic congestion at road intersections in Kampala district.

Abstract

The study was about assessment of traffic congestion at road intersections in Kampala district and the specific objectives of the study were to; to establish average delay time at selected road intersections in Kampala district, to establish the volume of traffic at selected road intersections in Kampala district, to determine the causes of delay at road intersections in Kampala district, and to establish the remedies to traffic congestion at road intersections in Kampala district. The kind of data used in this study was both quantitative and qualitative. Qualitative research design was employed to get view points and suggestions towards traffic congestion causes and measures and quantitative method involved capturing data for statistical analysis. Chapter one includes introduction, chapter two literature review from the past years, chapter three methodologies used in this study, chapter four results and findings, and chapter five includes conclusions and recommendations of the study.
