    Abstract
The study explored the analysis of the imagery depicted in the lango traditional songs. The study emphasized on how the lango people employ imagery in their day to day songs and how effective these various imageries are used to bring out the messages to the people of this land. This also went further to identify a few songs, discuss the subject matter within these songs and come out with their meaning to the people. We got to learn that these songs are not only a source of entertainment however also a great classroom to both the young and the old. Many youths learnt about how to live through these traditional songs. They protected their homes as a result if what they learnt from these traditional songs say ogwal oneko papu . Therefore the study was mainly to bring out the effectiveness of the variously used images within these songs. A factor that has greatly helped the Lango people preserve their culture up to date.
