In Uganda, agriculture is surrounded by many risks and uncertainties. The focus of this project was to provide a solution for some of the common risks that farmers face. Among the many risks, include production risks, market risks, financial risks etc. The project will focus on financial risk, which is the most common risk. The project narrows down to trying to mitigate or reduce the financial effects on the farmers and/or farms within the agricultural setting. A risk, within the context of this study, is explained as an “uncertainty”, something that will lead to the variations and farm investments and economy and/or income by farmers in Uganda. As observed, farming is a subset of agriculture, which is the economic “backbone” of the country,
and since it practiced at large, we found it necessary that an automated solution can help farmers and/or farms with “alternatives” to reduce financial effects that arise from the identified risks.
