A web based question bank for College of Computing and Information Science Library
Abstract
This project aimed at a web-based question ban for the college of computing and information science to manage past papers. The objectives of the project were to; examine the current system used in managing past paper questions at the college of computing and information science library., to determine the challenges associated with the current system used in managing past paper questions at the college library, establish the requirements necessary for designing a web based question bank system for the college of computing and information science library and finally to design and develop a web based question bank system for the college of computing and information science.
A case study approach of the qualitative research design was adopted to collect data. A population of 40 people was targeted and it constituted students and library administrators. A sample size of 36 respondents was determined. The sampling method was the purposive and non-probability sampling method questionnaire, interview and observation methods were used for data collection.
The study revealed that; CoCIS operates a manual system to manage the past papers with in the college library, students and the entire college library users have not derived satisfying benefits from the existing system due to a number of challenges experienced with the existing system that’s to say delayed access of past papers, diminishing library space for storage. The study concluded that, the proposed web-based question bank system be designed and developed to help enhance the field functionalities experienced with the existing system. The study recommended that, all past papers should be uploaded for the users to access them using the newly developed system.
