Job satisfaction and employee commitment in Uganda Police Force (UPF)
Abstract
The study was designed to examine “job satisfaction and commitment among Police Officers at the Uganda Police Force”. The objectives of the study were 1) To estimate the level of job satisfaction among police officers in Kampala central police station, 2) To establish the level of employee commitment among police officers in Kampala central police station, 3) To investigate the factors that influence job satisfaction and employee commitment among police officers in Kampala central police station, 4) To examine existing strategies of promoting job satisfaction and commitment among police officers Kampala central police station
The study adopted a cross sectional methodological approach that employed use of mixed methods inform of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. The sample size was of 60 officers at Central Police station and was selected using stratified random sampling based on different departments of a sampling strategy.
It was established that the levels of satisfaction and commitment among police officers were moderate and various factors influence the levels of job satisfaction and commitment among Uganda Police Officers.
