    Abstract
Many people come to a time when they want to build their own homes, or set up a construction related project/ business but have the least idea of where to even start from. This gives them the lower hand since they would be left with two options; either call up someone who knows, or go to a hardware store and get as much information as you can. With only limited knowledge on the materials, they stand a higher chance of being cheated, or exploited. This report is for the final year project that was undertaken from September, 2017 to April,2018. The report will summarize the observations I made as I was trying to understand the current initiatives used to access information on construction materials, the challenges faced and how the introduction of a web based application to bring the information closer to the people would impact the whole scenario.
