Understanding people's perceptions towards educating children with disabilities
Abstract
This research mainly focuses on the perceptions of individuals concerning the education of CWD's. The research had objectives that included; to find out the understanding individuals hold concerning disability, to find out the factors that influence individual's perceptions about educating children with disabilities and to find out alternatives for the views of people about safe places where children with disabilities should be. This was based on to acquire information from the respondents using questionnaires and an interview guide.
The target population sample was of 19 respondents which included members of community, Wandegeya that included the children with disabilities themselves. The methodology is a descriptive study design that used a qualitative approach. The findings were analyzed using the thematic analysis thus revealing the different perceptions individuals hold concerning educating CWD's, what factors influence their perceptions and the places people think are safe for these children.
