Electronic health: An assessment of the regulatory framework in Uganda
Abstract
The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines Electronic Health (eHealth) as the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for health1. In resolution WHA58.28 (2005)2, The World Health Assembly (WHA) stressed that eHealth, properly so called, must employ ICT cost-effectively and securely to support health and health-related functions. These were identified to include health-care services, health surveillance, health literature, and health education, knowledge and research.
