A review of the feasibility of Uganda's regulatory sandbox framework for promoting Fintech innovation: a comparative analysis with United Kingdom’s CFA and Kenya’s CMA
Abstract
In order to oversee the burgeoning fintech age, Uganda's financial authorities have adopted a regulatory sandbox structure, which allows regulators to learn how to supervise fintech’s, ensure customer protection, and stimulate fintech innovation. This Thesis investigates whether being a slight modification of other jurisdictions' regulatory sandbox frameworks, Uganda's regulatory sandbox fully takes into consideration the objectives set out in the National payment systems act.
General objective: To establish the feasibility of the National Payment System (Sandbox) Regulations for fintech in Uganda.
