Employee motivation, job satisfaction and job performance among employees of Equity Bank Kikuubo Branch.
Abstract
The major purpose of the study was to assess the relationship between employee motivation, job satisfaction and job performance among employees of Equity Bank. The objectives of the study were to find out whether employee motivation is related to job satisfaction, to find out whether job satisfaction is related to job performance, and to find out the relationship between employee motivation and job performance. The population of the study was 35 and the sample size of the participants was 32. A correlational research design was adopted to describe the relationship between variables. Data was analyzed using a Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (r) to establish whether the variables were correlated. The findings of the study showed that there is no significant relationship between employee motivation and job satisfaction since (p=.301, r=.103 at 0.01). A significant relationship between job satisfaction and job performance since (p=.002, r=.310** at 0.01), and a positive significant relationship between employee motivation and job performance (p=.008, r=.300** at 0.01). The study recommended that Equity Bank should investigate the various types of employee motivation that impact job satisfaction among employees. Therefore, concluded that organizations should device means on how to influence levels of job satisfaction if they are to enhance job performance.
