The study aimed at designing a Resource Management Tool for Wampeewo Ntakke SS Library. The objectives of the study were to; examine the current resource management system used to manage resources, establish challenges affecting the current system, and examine the requirements needed for designing a Resource Management System and to design a Resource Management Tool for Wampeewo Ntakke SS Library. Case study design and qualitative approach were used. Purposive sampling and stratified random sampling were used to sample the 65 respondents who participated in the study. Interviews, questionnaire and observation methods were used to collect relevant data for the study. The study findings revealed that majority library materials such as text books, newspapers and magazines, handouts and pamphlets, holy books were in print format accessible to all the students and teachers by the use of library cards and the library registers. Inadequate funding of the school library was a major challenge affecting the school library. This has led to the inadequate information resources and staff in the school library. The study concluded that electronic library materials would be acquired in the school library to support the needs of users. Inadequate funding as a major challenge would be solved by increasing the library funding in order to provide adequate funding and staff. The study concluded that there was a need for designing a resource management tool, to train the librarians at Wampeewo Ntakke SS Library in the management of library resources at the school library.
The study recommended that the school should adapt to this RMT, electronic library materials should be acquired through increasing the library funding in order to curb the challenge of inadequate funds and improve on the library staffing in order to effectively provide the information resources to the library users. The study further recommended the school administration to adopt the designed proposed system to support the librarians while offering resources to the users.
