This project provides a detailed study of the development of a social commerce platform that strengthens the relationship between businesses and their consumers for better service delivery. Through analysing and interpreting the impact of e-commerce on trade in Uganda within the past decade, the study examined the business-to-consumer disconnection developed by the commerce model adopted by existing e-commerce applications. This allowed us to delve into how businesses connected with and interacted with consumers today, thus revealing the potential for an application that allows businesses to liaise directly with consumers through a social media experience. The developed system has been able to bridge the gap between consumers and vendors, provide adequate payment methods, and to resolve security concerns through business verification.
