    Abstract
Spent bleaching earth is derived from the degumming and bleaching of crude palm oil from physically refined palm oil and it is commonly disposed of at landfills at a high cost. Its disposal has so far led to environmental degradation but has not been addressed. This project demonstrates how the oil that is disposed of together with the spent earth can be recovered using a solvent hence reducing on environmental degradation.
