    Performance strategies in selected Ankole traditional marriage songs.

    Abstract
    The study basically looks at the performance strategies in selected Ankole traditional marriage songs . These ceremonies include give away ceremonies and wedding ceremonies and even introduction among the Banyankole .I intend to find out the performance strategies in selected Ankole traditional marriage songs. The research contains introduction about marriage songs, literature review which looks at different scholars who identified the value and performance strategies in traditional marriage songs. The researcher used the interview, observation, Data analysis methods, Note taking, translation and discussion methods. The researcher attended different marriage ceremonies and listened to different radio and television programs which were related to marriage thus finding out the view that employed the performance strategies. The study established that the traditional marriage songs have been least performed which has neutralized the value of Ankole culture. It should be noted that where such songs are still existing, the impact is still of value. The study concluded that the performance strategies in the traditional marriage songs is crucial for it employs the style, theme and the value of songs in society. The study recommended that such songs should be put in writing so that they can be made popular among the public and the people who have inter married and this would increase the purpose and avail the performance strategies in the Ankole traditional marriage songs.
