    Abstract
With Uganda trying to join the automotive industry with Kiira Motors, the company has a lot to consider during the production of their cars. The automotive market is a stiff one with very many competitors and well establish companies already supplying cars to Uganda. Despite this electric cars or hybrids have not yet penetrated the Ugandan market which is where Kiira Motors Corporation could be a pioneer. If Kiira Motors is to be successful in its endeavors automotive design is going to be a very important aspect in their production. This is mainly because it gives the first visual representation of the vehicles as well as capturing customer tastes and preferences when it comes to what the vehicle looks like. This research therefore focusses on how automotive design is implemented or can be implemented by Kiira Motors. It also tries to highlight a key factor which is that Kiira Motors is dealing with Electric and hybrid vehicles which also have some specific design needs when compared to combustion engine vehicles. The research looks at what is going on in the word of automotive design making comparisons with Kiira’s automotive design. It looks at design and practicality, the rivalry and relationship between them and how Kiira Motors elements the two. I used quantitative research method and exploratory research design during my research enabling me to identify key aspects and problems, and challenges facing automotive design at Kiira motors as well as make data comparisons between design at Kiira Motors and design happening in other car manufacturing industries. My main findings were, Firstly, the level to which automotive design is used at Kiira Motors, secondly, where Kiira motors stands in the automotive industry when compared to other manufactures and thirdly how aesthetics and design have been married at Kiira Motors. I conclude that, design still needs more focus oat Kiira Motors, Kiira is trying to create its own brand identity but also trying to learn from other manufactures and design is lagging behind practicality. With the conclusions above, my recommendations were that Kiira realizes the importance of design and do more with it, Kiira try to learn from other companies especially those focusing on electric cars and that aesthetics and practicality need to be used together for the best results
