    Abstract
The purpose of this study is to make manifest the songwriting techniques that popular Pentecostal gospel music artists particularly those in Kampala use. The researcher assumed that the way popular artists write songs is very different from the upcoming artists as we shall see some of their songs being nominated which is a clear indication that their performance as far as music is concerned is considered better than those without any nomination. My endeavors are pointed towards assisting the upcoming gospel music artists discern a better approach to songwriting that is through picking inspiration from the already established/popular gospel music artists in Uganda particularly from Kampala in the Divisions of Makindye and Rubaga. Key words; Pentecostal, Popular, Gospel, Music and Techniques.
