    Abstract
    This research was mainly carried out to examine and analyze the manifestation of symbolism in proverbs on development among the Banyankole of western Uganda. The findings of this research are elaborate to the dot and they vividly show that symbolism is greatly deal in as far as conveyance of meaning is concerned. It was therefore at the centre of this study to establish the reality about the concept of symbolism in proverbs.
