The focus of this study was to design a Music Database Management System at Life Church Kasangati .
A literature review based on research questions was carried out . It covered the key components of history of Music Database Management System, functions of the Music Database Management System, steps in designing a Database Management System, challenges faced in management of church music, and choir information requirements.
The study took a qualitative approach with a case study design. Qualitative approach was opted for because the research required gaining concrete and in-depth knowledge about a specific real world subject. Case study research design was adopted for since it enabled a holistic review which gave opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the subject.
For ethical considerations, the researcher observed confidentiality of participants’ personal information, intregrity and sought for the consent of the participants before data was collected. The findings that responded to the research questions were presented and interpreted using tables, pie-chart and graphs. The major findings about the challenges faced in management of Life Church music included poor storage, poor music organization, high costs of operation and difficulty in accessibility.
The Music Database Management System for Life Church Kasangati was designed and developed as well as conclusions and recommendations discussed in detail.
