    Fashion design as a life skill amongst youths in Kampala; a case study of youths living in and around Kampala (Kabalagala) between 2020-2022.

    Abstract
    This study was meant to analyze the fashion design as a life skill amongst youths in Kampala; a case of youths living in and around Kampala (Kabalagala) between 2020 - 2022. More so, the thesis was based on the following objectives on relation to the study topic. i. To establish important methods and ways of creative thinking in fashion design amongst youths in (Kabalagala) Kampala ii. To explore more variable talents through testing youths on their creativity specifically in fashion designing iii. To evaluate the different levels of originality amongst the youths in Kampala so that they are able to meet the different levels of standard. The researcher presents the life skills that youths in Kampala can embark on to sustain themselves favorably in the competitive local and global markets. The researcher enlightens the youths to adopt and master some techniques, hence specify some of the affordable machines and materials to use for the start, this would enable them acquire experience in the fashion fields hence create some job opportunities in the society. The available literature about fashion design and the visualization concepts were analyzed and depended on in order for the study. Respondent’s contributions from the interviews, discussion and reports of data collected from observed fashion designers’ experts’ creations were highly called for and examined The research involves the qualitative analysis that was done included published case histories and interviews that enabled the researcher to compile the final report. The researcher analyzed the different fashion design fabrics produced and the materials used plus the different techniques used to produce them using specified machines to acquire the life skills in order for them to earn a living The research contains all information about the fashion design’s work experiences, that can be gained by the youths practically hence equip them with life skills and knowledge from the workplaces and that enable them produce works hence creating employment opportunities for themselves.
