There is an increasing demand for easy access to stationery products that are used by students, parents, businesses and schools during back-to-school rush hours. This creates congestion in stationery shops and markets in Kampala. The purpose of this project was to develop the Mobile Application Stationery Store (MASS), a cross platform mobile application for stationery products to be used by students, and for parents to purchase stationery products at their convenience. Specifically, the project dealt with reviewing relevant literature on eCommerce technologies to aid in identifying user requirements of the
application, designing a model for the mobile application, implementing the application, testing and validating the application, and launching the application on the Google Play store. Qualitative data collection techniques were used to gather information using questionnaires and interviews that were issued to a population sample size of 100 participants comprising of students,
parents, and business owners in central Kampala. The findings revealed that there is congestion of people and also determined that stationery products during the peak times are sold at very hefty prices The output of this project is a fully functioning Mobile Application Stationery Store application that can be used to buy and sell stationery products online.
