Abstract
Fertility is the capability to produce offspring through reproduction following the onset of sexual maturity. The fertility rate is the average number of children born by a female during her lifetime and is quantified demographically. In 2020, fertility are for Uganda was births per woman which show a gradual fall from 7.1 births per woman in 1971 to 4.7 in 2020 but which still high never the less because the population growth rate 3.3% and birth rate of 36.7% per 1000 people is still high for Uganda. The global average fertility rate is just below 2.5 children per woman and 5.4 children for Uganda is still considered high in the modern world because of the reduction in the mortality rates hence the essence of the study to help find out how Uganda can attain both modernization and reduced normal fertility rates. UDHS 2016 reports fertility rates of 5.7 from a total of 18506 w0men aged 15-49 that were interviewed.
