    Abstract
This research was conducted in Soroti district where I looked at imagery and the portrayal of women among the Iteso folktales during my research. This research analyses eight Ateso folktales on imagery and portrayal of women among the Ateso folktales. In the research I wrote and translated the folktales depicting deeper meaning in them through consultation and observation.
