The use of metaphors in Runyankole proverbs

Abstract

This research was mainly carried out to analyse the metaphorical analysis in the selected Runyankole proverbs. This research examines socio-cultural and economic background that shapes the Ankole proverbs and their meanings inherent in them. This research reveals that Ankole proverbs are used metaphorically as an indication of traditional wisdom of the Banyankole people and a tool to articulate their world view.
