    Abstract
In most of man’s endeavours to survive, different things are needed to make the journey easier and more comfortable. Among the many there is furniture. According to the Oxford Dictionary, furniture are the movable articles that are used to make a room or building suitable for living or working in, such as tables, chairs, or desks. We need furniture for more comfortable lives. We use it for storage, sitting on, and sleeping. Going beyond the basics, it also expresses our sense of style and enhancing the overall look of place. Furniture can be classified according to purpose (place of use), functionality (human activity that takes place on it), form and construction and technology used. (Smardzewski, 2015). Due to increasing population and costs of living, living and working spaces are getting smaller and more expensive especially in the urban areas, and as needs and life circumstances change, so does the furniture. This has made space-saving techniques imperative. As a result, designers, in collaboration with engineers and manufacturers, sought and developed solutions for space-saving, like collapsible furniture. Collapsible furniture can also be called Transformable, space saving, or foldable furniture. Such pieces have been in people daily lives for a long time, and are especially common during or in picnics, vacations, school, functions etc.
