The portrayal of female characters in Ankole folksongs.

Abstract

The study is aimed at the portrayal of female characters in Ankole songs. With the help of both primary and secondary sources, the study generates about seven folksongs in the Runyankole language. This data has been translated in English. Lessons drawn from these folks help society on how to perceive women and also the respect of a female not only in Ankole culture but also in other cultures.
