    Oral literary forms in the novel "The Alien Woman"

    Abstract
    The study examined oral literary forms in the novel “the Alien Woman”. Oral form as used in the novel; the alien woman is a very important medium of communication. The researcher used the close reading of the text “The A lien Woman”, focused on the identification and sorting out the major oral forms in the novel. The objectives of the study were to identify how songs are used to bring out cultural ceremony aspects in Alien Woman and examine the effectiveness of songs in the portrayal of ritual in the novel. The study found that proverbs, folksongs were used in the novel. The study revealed that oral form encapsulates the formal knowledge, beliefs and values about the environment and the nature of the society.
