Abstract
Cleaning of floors is the process of removing accumulated unwanted particles from a given surface or floor. The unwanted particles include dust brought about by moving air and /or speeding vehicles, ash particles flying from nearby burnt bushes or burnt rubbish, flour particles and burning of fossil fuels among others. Cleaning and general sanitation is also a basic need to human beings and it has to be on a daily routine. Dust is a concern in class/lecture rooms, auditoriums, hospitals, malls, airports, bus stands and on roads amongst others. Also deposition and accumulation of dust on photovoltaic module hinders performance by hindering light transmission of the PV module surface cover. Other sources of dust include volcanic eruptions, dead skin cells, plant pollen, human hair, animal fur, textile fibers and paper fibers. Especially during dry season when there is too much sunshine, there is always dust which is brought about by dry soil and as the sun sets, wind movement decreases which causes dust to rest on objects and surfaces. Unlike in the wet season where most of the soil is often moist, which makes it difficult to form dust. If this dust is not cleaned daily, it accumulates and causes more adverse effects.
