    Abstract
This piece of work was aimed at providing electricity suitable for domestic consumption using a wind turbine. it was done due to high cost of fuel which is not suitable by every individual in the community to reduce vulnerability from electricity. the major objective was to design and construct a simple wind turbine using available materials and test its performance using air fan and natural wind which was achieved successfully. the constructed wind turbine is shown in Figure 4.1 and the results of the testing are shown in Tables 4.1 and 4.2. From the testing carried out, the voltage increased to 10 V in 60 seconds using air from fan which stayed constant beyond 60 seconds and increased to 12 V in 60 seconds using natural wind which also stayed constant beyond 60 seconds. this was able to produce electricity. For the effective performance of the turbine and to realize a high voltage output, a tower should be constructed so that the turbine is raised high and also to set in an open place where the wind is high. Bigger alternator like car alternator should be used, so that the voltage output is higher. The power storage device should be used so that power can be used at a later time, thus this technology can be adapted in areas of low power supply to boost electrical devices.
