    Abstract
The need to have a safer and more secure home environment has risen expeditiously and with no doubt, attempts have been made to provide just that. Despite these attempts, there is still a need for better and affordable solutions to home safety and security. This system leans into providing a technological solution to unsafety and insecurity in homes around Kampala mainly focusing on intrusion detection for security and gas leakage detection for safety. The development and implementation process of this system followed the agile methodology with a back-and-forth mechanism dependent on the changing requirements of the system. With, all achieved system specification tests were done with clear objectives. Limitations that include monetary reasons, lack of enough equipment were encountered during the development process. We formulated an installation process that we followed during the deployment and installation of the system. A service and maintenance plan are well put in place detailing any phase outs, upgrades or updates. We recommend better internet connection around Kampala for better use of the system.
