Land is a very valuable asset to Ugandan citizens. It is considered to be more valuable if it has a certificate of title attached to it. However, in some cases, a piece of land might have a number of approved certificates of title attached to it because of fraud and mistakes made in the land office. In addition to that, the process for applying for a land title is long and draining.
Our system is designed to address these issues by enabling the land applicant to apply for the land title. Before they are granted ownership, the original owner must provide a thumbprint authentication that confirms their ownership and thereafter they can transfer ownership to the new applicant thus reducing the rampant cases of people getting sold to land that did not exist on the map. The system demonstrates the various states the application goes through until issuance by the registrar and it also provides the applicant with the updates on the status of their application until that when it is ready for pickup.
