An anonymized health records management Information System is a system that
helps Mulago hospitals store patients’ information while hiding patients’ personal
information which prevents back tracing hence ensuring privacy.
Many electronic systems have been developed in health care units in Uganda
fostering data storage and sharing in a given unit. However, this is associated with
many risks especially invading the privacy of the patients since everyone who has
access to these systems can easily access patients’ health data at any time. Therefore,
the development of the system was based on the problem of data privacy.
The system requirements were collected using interviewing and online
questionnaires. Data from the interviews was analyzed using SPSS and excel to come
up with functional system requirements.
We later used the analyzed requirements to come up with the Data flow diagrams,
Entity relationship diagrams. A number of languages including HTML,
JAVASCRIPT, CSS MYSQL for database connection, PHP for back-end and
bootstrap were used to implement the system.
