    Abstract
The study establishes an interface between proverbs and how it relates to human behavior or way of living. The study seeks to find out how proverbs reflect human relationship between men and women in a given society. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach. The study in Chapter three relied on both primary and secondary sources of data collection and employed face-to-face interviews, questionnaires and observation as the methods of data collection used during the study. In Chapter five, the study found that there has been a shift from oral compositions. Performance has taken centre stage than oral literature, there is preference of songs to proverbs today, there is decreased audience to proverbs, many young people don't embrace proverbs and many young people don't embrace praise poems and proverbs. The Study concluded that despite the shift from oral compositions, the use of Proverbs is part of human nature that needs to be embraced wholly in order to create a better human relationship with each other.
