Abstract
This thesis explores how sound and their meaning is cultivated in regards to the selected Kumam dirges. This is to be ascertained by me the researcher going to the Kumam community to ask questions about how sound was formulated and achieved in dirges, getting my questions answered by preferable elders, and passing a questionnaire as a sample to get answers to my questions.
