    Abstract
This thesis explores how imagery manifests itself in proverbs with special reference to selected proverbs from the Iteso of Eastern Uganda. To establish this, the researcher interacted with elderly people of Teso aged above 50 years .some of the methods used to collect data were, questionnaires, observations, interviews, and internet search. The collected data was then subjected to thorough analysis with reference to various scholars who also carried out research related to the topic that this research handles. Findings from the research were then used to make conclusions and recommendations.
