Abstract
Background: The study was designed to examine pregnant mothers ‘experiences and access to immunization services during COVID-19 lockdown at Komamboga Health Center III, Kawempe Division. Objectives: The specific objectives were:(a) to examine the effect of COVID-19 restrictions on the accessibility of immunization services among pregnant mothers :(b) to determine the accessibility mechanisms to immunization services used by pregnant mothers during the COVID-19 lockdown(c) “to understand other challenges faced by pregnant women in accessing immunization services during the COVID-19 lockdown in Komamboga , Kawempe division” Methods: The study adopted a qualitative approach to collect data and analyze from 10participants including 6 pregnant mothers of the COVID19 lockdown, 3 health workers and in charge Komamboga Health Center III. Findings: The study found out that much as pregnant women used different accessibility mechanisms to immunization services, there were also many COVID19 restrictions on the immunization accessibility as well as personal and environmental challenges to accessibility of immunization services due to the COVID19 Lockdown in Komamboga. Conclusion In conclusion, this study has shown that pregnant mothers experience and access to immunization services during the COVID19 Lockdown were issued into the “ Accessibility related mechanisms to immunization services by pregnant women during the Covid19, Effects of COVID19 restrictions on the accessibility of immunization services among pregnant mothers and also challenges faced by pregnant mothers on the accessibility of immunization services among pregnant mothers that inhibited them from realizing a full and meaningfully life of perfect immunization as mothers of the country especially during the Pandemic
