    Abstract
Online teaching refers to the process of providing the required teaching and learning materials to students to students in a virtual form (online). Online teaching involves the use of internet and gadgets like recent versions of the computers, smart phones, laptops and so on. This method of teaching dates back in late 1984 when the first online course was offered by the University of Toronto. The out-break of the dangerous Covid-19 pandemic in the year 2019 saw a total change where by all high institutes of learning resorted to online teaching and learning as a mitigation measure to bridge the gap between students and the lecturers. Makerere University being one of the high institutes of learning resorted to this method of learning to enable continuity of the study by the students.
