    Self-esteem, depression and substance abuse among school going adolescents.

    Abstract
    The study’s objective was to investigate the relationship between Self-esteem, depression and substance abuse among school going adolescents. The investigation was carried out at in secondary schools in Kampala district A study adopted a qualitative research approach with correlational method to determine the relationship between the study variables. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 23. The findings of the study showed that there is no relationship between self –esteem and depression (p=409>0.05) The results also revealed that there is no relationship between self – esteem and substance abuse(p=.136>0.05) the further revealed that there is a relationship between depression and substance abuse.
