A feasibility analysis of the perception and acceptability of agricultural real estate investment trusts as an alternative to the agricultural sector financing
Abstract
The study investigates the perception and acceptability of agricultural real estate investment trusts
as an alternative to the current agricultural sector financing in Uganda. Regardless of the various
interventions by the government in agricultural financing, access to credit facilities by small holder
farmers has remained very low and unchanging over the years. There are no cheaper alternatives
to agricultural financing which has left majority of the small holder farmers unable to access
finances and this study gives an insight of an alternative to this kind of financing challenge being
the agricultural real estate investment trusts. The study also examines the contributions of the
current agricultural sector financing as well as the existing implementation gaps to the agricultural
financing
