A study in the place and value of irony in the use of proverbs: a case study of selected proverbs of the Basoga

Abstract

This research focused on some selected Lusoga proverbs, identifying the irony in each proverb, and discussing how they evoke meaning, and preserve culture to ensure discipline among the Basoga people
