Shisha smoking and how it may be shaped by illustrations at MTSIFA.
Abstract
Shisha smoking is continuously being practiced by people in different societies in Uganda despite them knowing its dangers. The project sought to know the reasons , the cultural meaning of why the youth continue to practice shisha smoking as well as cigarettes. It also sought to experiment the different media inform of how illustrations can be portrayed using different tools and surfaces. In this part, illustrations showing the class identity of shisha and cigarette smokers id done on paper. Developmental sketches as well are done using charcoal pencils, pen and also digitally.
To achieve the above results of the reasons behind the cultural meaning for people to continue to smoke were derived through using, interview guides, observation, photographing and also from different sources as shown in the literature review and also in the research methodologies in chapter three.
