Abstract
Urbanization is one of the major trends in the world with both negative and positive effects to the community. This book looks at the impacts of urbanization to the community in Buliisa district. This has been handled through the major drivers, causes, benefits that are, challenges and solutions to the problems or challenges that arise as a result of urban development. A literature on the background of urbanization in reference to other written articles and books. There is information on the study area that’s Biiso Town Council its location, population size and structure, climate and economic activities in the area. It has a section of the research design which includes the sample size of the research, data collection method, the type of the research and the methods of data analysis. It was found out Biiso town council was undergoing rapid urbanization because of the discovery of oil and gas that created opportunities for a number of people and companies. However this is associated with a number of problems with low compliance and inadequate funding being the major issues resulting from urban development. Number of innervations have been made by government and NGOs to minimize on the challenges with planning for sustainable development and donation of items taking the lead, however the people suggested sensitization and provision of adequate funding would move a milestone in solving the problems
