Crime information management system (case Uganda)

Abstract

This is a Final Year Project report about development of the Crime Information Management System that curbs the challenge of poor management of information between the crime management agencies like the police and the prosecution in terms of records keeping and sharing of information. The report consists of six chapters: Chapter one focuses on the main project which is the issue poor management of information between the crime management agencies, the major objective of this project is to develop the crime information management system to solve this problem. Chapter two reviews the previous works done similar to this project which is the literature review. Chapter three describes the various methodologies used during the project. These include the software development methodologies and the data collection techniques deployed. Chapter four consists of the Study, Analysis and Design phase of our project, here we look at the findings from the questionnaires and interview sessions we held. The chapter shows the analysis of the data from the respondents. The website architecture, requirement modelling, process modelling and data modelling are included in this section. Chapter five describes the implementation, testing and validation processes. The technologies used which included the PHP framework. User interfaces screenshots are shown together with the test cases and validation process. Chapter six concludes this Final Year Project Report with the achievements, challenges faced, recommendation and areas of future research.
